Hydrologic Modeling and Watershed Study in GIS

The main purpose of this map is to illustrate my ability to conduct hydrologic modeling in ArcGIS Pro in order to delineate the watershed upstream from a water sample site and conduct some spatial analysis. The fictional water sample containing E. coli illicits a need to uncover potential sources of contamination; here, agricultural lands within the watershed upstream. The agricultural lands found here are from the National Land Cover Database, totaling close to six hundred thousand acres – a lot of land to investigate!

Maps representing scientific inquiries often require use of a larger map board (as seen below) to provide more descriptive areas explaining its purpose and data sources. It is possible however to further distill this information into a “tighter” map space as the picture above suggests; however, this would need to be refined a little further (e.g., containing more information in the legend).
